A gentle stroll down memory lane...
It was just prior to the confirmation of my twelth season (My 12th birthday) some 11 years ago, that I first ventured into the lands that are Krynn. Indeed it was my first journey into any of the bookworlds that grew from what is the game of Dungeons & Dragons. It may seem strange that I began with the 2nd novel of what was the foundation trilogy for the series, the Dragonlance Chronicles. But before long (for my birthday in fact) I came to own the first of many novels, 'Darkness and Light'.

History
In my mind, the Dragonlance book world can be divided into 3 periods or chapters. Those set before the War of the Lance (the War of the Lance being the period covered in the Chronicles), the period from the war to the War of Chaos, and finally the period beyond the Chaos war, essentially the 5th age, the Age of Mortals.
The sheer scope of written material is such, that each period has ample information available, a testament to the sheer popularity of the world as a whole.

The world of Krynn is perhaps recognisable at first, as an almost stereotypical fantasy realm. It possesses its share of Dragons, both the Metallic good Dragons, and the Chromatic evil's. It has its chivalrous knights, The Knights of Solamnia, and that ever present theme of Good Vs Evil. Yet unlike so many other worlds, Krynn has proven to be ever evolving. Initially we find it is a world abandoned by its gods... or did the people abandon their faith, such is the clever way it is blurred initially. But then the gods are returned, in all their glory. Then, as is at present, we turn full circle and the gods are gone once more. Removed from the world altogether. Things are not always as they seem in the world of Krynn, so please, enter with caution, and read with fervour.
